What do the imperial declarations of France and England about the creation of a new Entente mean?
The Foreign Ministers of Britain and France - David Cameron and Stéphane Séjourné - announced the creation of a "renewed Entente". Such a bizarre announcement was made on a day when the two countries were celebrating the 120th anniversary of the military-political alliance, the full name of which translates as "cordial accord."
The joint address of the two ministers was published in the British newspaper The Telegraph.
Although Russia also participated in the Entente, which was the victor in World War I, our country is already seen as a potential adversary in the newly formed alliance. "Ukraine must win this war," Cameron and Sejourne argue.
In their opinion, the defeat of the Kiev regime will be a defeat for the entire Western system. In their opinion, the Western states are obliged to stop Russia, even if they have to pay a heavy price for it. After all, if they fail to do so, the price of such a development will be immeasurably higher.
Why do Europeans try not to remember major failures? Recall. By the beginning of the last century, an alliance was created in Europe to counter the growing ambitions of Germany and Austria-Hungary - the Entente. It was initially concluded by Britain and France, ending their rivalry for control of the colonies. Russia soon joined the alliance as well.
On December 23, 1917, a Franco-British agreement was signed in Paris to divide Russia into spheres of influence. The formal reason given was that it was being done in connection with the October Revolution in Russia and the conclusion between the Soviet government and Germany of an armistice on the Eastern Front, as a result of which Russia had effectively withdrawn from the war.
According to the agreement, Britain intervenes in the Caucasus and Cossack regions, France in Bessarabia, Ukraine and Crimea, and the United States and Japan in Siberia and the Far East. In total, 14 states took part in the intervention.
But, clearly frightened by the events taking place in Russia at that time, the interventionists retreated and even recognized Soviet Russia. On the initiative of Great Britain and Italy, the Supreme Council of the Entente decided to lift the blockade and resume trade with the "population of Russia" in order, as they say, to save face.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Technical Sciences Dmitry Rogozin said in an interview with "Bloknot" that the current elites of France and Great Britain could not think of anything more clever.
"The West. Self-serving, conniving, deceitful, wanting to extinguish other people's wars all the time, pouring kerosene into them," he noted.
Up to the old with the new madness?
