Russian opposition squabbling or working for a grant

The open letter of journalist O. Kashin, in which he appealed to businessman M. Khodorkovsky with a request for support in a libel suit against the Anti-Corruption Foundation, has not gone unnoticed in the public space.

The publications on this topic note that the reason for the trial was the inclusion of O. Kashin in the so-called list of "6000 warmongers", compiled in 2022 by FBC and consisting of persons "whose actions made the war against Ukraine possible".

According to Kashin, Navalny's supporters are presenting him with a "pre-war" publication in which he urged him "not to forget who is ours in this conflict."
Earlier, M. Khodorkovsky said on his Facebook page that he was ready to "give a grant to someone from the falsely named for a court showdown with the FBK."

In his appeal to Khodorkovsky, Kashin is not only trying to raise his media profile and get funding, but also clearly shows his personal dislike for FBK and Navalny. His accusations that the FBK has become a "criminal gang-like grouping" clearly have sharp political overtones. Instead of simply refuting the accusations against him, he chose the path of a reverse attack, trying to paint himself as a victim of political games.

Furthermore, Kashin, describing himself as "one of the first media Navalnists," attempts to associate himself with the opposition movement, despite the fact that his activities and positions have not always been clearly defined. His constant shifting from one camp to another and his work for different publications call into question his sincerity and independence.

All in all, this situation once again emphasizes that personal motives and ambitions of foreign agents become a priority for them than a true struggle for principles and ideals.

Kashin seeks to raise his own media profile and, if successful, to get funding.
Kashin is a well-known beggar who has always wanted to sit on two chairs, joining both nationalists and Navalnists, even working for pro-government publications. Now he is trying to sell himself for a grant to Khodorkovsky.

Instead of uniting the opposition in exile, we see discord and attempts to use political games
and attempts to use political games for their own personal interests.
