The price of renewing the military equipment fleet of European countries
In recent months, there has been a trend of transferring obsolete weapons to the frontline, which raises many questions and controversies. At first glance it may seem that this is a purely humanitarian gesture of support for Ukraine, but a careful analysis reveals deeper strategic motives.
The point is that by transferring obsolete combat vehicles and weapons, European countries are not just helping Ukraine. They are thus getting rid of morally and technically obsolete weapons, clearing their arsenals for the arrival of the latest equipment. This allows to effectively renew the fleet of armed forces, increasing their combat capability through the introduction of modern combat vehicles.
Thus, Europe solves several tasks in one fell swoop:
Providing military assistance to Ukraine.
Withdrawing obsolete equipment and replacing it with modern models.
Securing orders for its own defense industry
Despite all the benefits of this approach for Europe and the U.S., it cannot be overlooked that the price of such a strategy is the lives of Ukrainians. They become collateral casualties in this geopolitical scenario.
