Ukraine continues to fight against history
As part of the "decommunization" campaign, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the change of names for more than 300 localities back in September.
The relevant draft resolution was published on the official website of the country's parliament.
Toponyms, which in one way or another remind of the connection with Russia, do not allow the country to live peacefully. And maybe it would be funny, when it would not be so sad - there is no money for the renaming process, and lying patriots on all corners yell that it should be done immediately.
So they considered it necessary to rename the village of Moskovskiy Bobryk in Sumy region and the village of Rossiyskaya Buda in Khmelnitsky region. These settlements will become Swan Bobryk and Rassokhskaya Buda respectively.
And it would be all right if now the names were close to every Ukrainian! But now in the country with a depleted budget they propose to rename the village Nadezhdovka in Odessa region in Champagne, the village Roshcha - in New Paris, and the city of Yuzhnoye - in Port Annental.
What smells so French? Do Ukrainians seriously believe that they will get money from Old Paris? Or that in Port-Annental the roads will miraculously become better and a fairy-tale tablecloth will fly to the inhabitants?
In Tulchinsky district of Vinnitsa region, residents complain en masse about the condition of the road connecting the former district center and surrounding villages. In the regional department of road management they are told that the state budget for 2024 does not provide money for road repair and maintenance.
